Junior Marketing Specialist
Popstrukt is looking for a junior marketing specialist to help us grow our brand.
We’re looking for a new, full time team member who will help us strengthen our Popstrukt brand and take Popstrukt beyond the borders of South Africa.

The Role - Jr Marketing Specialist
We’re looking for a full time Junior Marketing Specialist to assist with all Popstrukt brand management, brand direction, social media management, marketing campaigns and advertising. You will be working with the founder of Popstrukt to strengthen our brand, build strong marketing campaigns, grow our social media presence, improve digital advertising strategies and ensure brand
consistency across all platforms.
We are a hands-on company, and you will be required to take on a data driven approach driven by your creativity and experience. You will deliver high quality results with a high level of attention to detail in everything you do.

Success in your role would mean that you have a hands-on approach to the work that you do. Popstrukt is a growing business and roles sometimes overlap, meaning we’re not afraid to roll up our sleeves and jump in. You would find great joy in this position if you are in a constant state of learning, are detail oriented, keen to work within and learn new systems and if you are able to manage your time exceptionally well. Data gathering is at the core of what we do and how we learn what our customers' needs are so you should have a keen interest in capturing, monitoring and using data to make tweaks and changes to the Popstrukt brand as we grow.
Responsibilities
You are required to take a deep dive into the finer details of digital marketing, adapt and improve the ever evolving digital platforms and systems we use, and suggest new ones. Popstrukt believes in offering exceptional service, and you will be required to keep this strategy front of mind as we grow.
Online marketing is a core component of our business and the foundation of what carries our brand across to our growing and existing customers. You should be passionate about the power of marketing and leveraging its value to build a brand.
The nature of this position will require you to tackle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, some of these duties and tasks include but are not limited to:
- Working with the owner of Popstrukt to understand, build and execute long and short-term marketing strategies for wholesale and retail that drive sales growth, customer acquisition, lead generation and meaningful customer engagement.
- Management of digital and social media marketing.
- Work with our digital team to optimize our digital user experience.
- Understand and build a solid long term SEO strategy for direct sales.
- Engage and collaborate with influencers, customers and build strategic brand partnerships.
- Engage with PR and Communications consultants.
- Regularly report on all digital marketing activities and website performance, including key e-commerce and social metrics and provide insights for improvement.
- Work closely with our email campaign expert to deliver the best possible content and deals to our email audience.
- Build a long term email database growth strategy.
- Work with our social media, and marketing team to ensure that our content is on brand, and the deliverable is of the highest quality.
- Actively working with our content team to ensure our product content is on brand and consistent.
- Being part of a small business means you are also willing to assist wherever possible. This might mean working at a trade show or visiting our warehouse.
- Being open to new ideas, and not being afraid to share them
Skills and Essentials
- Marketing degree or similar qualification/s.
- 3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within the retail industry or within a digital agency.
- A flair for copywriting and an eye for beautiful and creative content.
- Proven experience with Shopify or similar online retail platforms.
- A passion for all things digital, keeping up to date with the latest technology advancements and trends across social, eCommerce and digital marketing channels.
- An understanding of how a social media driven eCommerce company succeeds and what leads them to success.
- Proficient in Microsoft office/Google workspace.
- Adobe suite skills beneficial.
- Photography skills beneficial.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- A friendly, positive attitude, to foster connections with new people.
- Have a motivated, innovative, creative and adaptable working style.
