At Popstrukt, good business means more than good furniture. It’s about doing good too. That’s why we’ve proudly supported the Prince Albert Community Trust (PACT) for several years through fundraising campaigns, product donations, and meaningful partnerships that go beyond the transactional.
Recently, we had the privilege of visiting Prince Albert to spend time on the ground with the people who make PACT what it is: a powerful force for community upliftment, skills development, and economic opportunity in the Central Karoo.
Who is PACT?
PACT was founded in 2018 with a simple mission: to create a thriving, self-sustaining community in Prince Albert by investing in its people. From early childhood development to entrepreneurial support, PACT’s work touches lives across all ages. They offer training in trades like carpentry, agriculture, and hospitality while also supporting micro-enterprises to help local entrepreneurs turn their ideas into viable businesses.
It’s a place where potential is nurtured, where young people gain tools for the future, and where hope is built, brick by brick.
Sharing What We Know (And Learning Even More)
Our weekend with PACT was filled with conversation, collaboration, and plenty of laughter. The Popstrukt team hosted a series of informal talks, sharing our experiences in product design, e-commerce, branding, and logistics. These sessions were less about lectures and more about open dialogue, trading ideas, answering questions, and hearing about the community’s own entrepreneurial dreams.
One of the highlights was a hands-on workshop where we assembled a Popstrukt piece together with PACT members. This was more than just a flat-pack moment. It was a symbol of collaboration, creativity, and pride. Furniture, after all, is our thing. But building something together? That’s powerful.
Exploring Prince Albert
Of course, no trip to Prince Albert would be complete without taking in its quiet magic. Nestled between the Swartberg mountains and the vastness of the Karoo, the town pulses with creativity and warmth. From its historic architecture to its locally made crafts and produce, it’s easy to see why so many people fall in love with the place and why supporting its people matters.
What’s Next?
We left Prince Albert with more than just memories. We left inspired. Inspired by the resilience of the community. Inspired by the vision of PACT. And inspired to do more.
