2025
We kicked off the year with the launch of Salt Blue, a calming and fresh new tone in the Bon Bon family. And we’re just getting started — with new ranges, colourways, and exciting design collabs in the works, Popstrukt is growing bolder, brighter, and braver. Over the years, Popstrukt has grown into a team of fantastic people who have built a beautiful struktuur — one that brings our products to life and delivers exceptional furniture and service straight to you.
2024
Big moves — Popstrukt officially launched in the Netherlands in April (no joke). In May we introduced the Bon Bon Double Locker, quickly becoming a best seller, and a household staple. This year also brought three limited-edition collabs with Luluscian, Amy Ayanda, and Yuppiechef, and saw the Bon Bon range named a finalist at the SCAPE furniture design awards.
2023
Popstrukt took to the global stage, showcasing at the iconic Maison & Objet design fair in Paris. We also dropped our first limited edition colourway in our own Soda Pop Orange, encapsulating our bold, playful energy into the Sugar Cube Range.
2022
We grew the Bon Bon family to include a side table and media unit, adding even more flexibility to the range. Our product ecosystem expanded with the launch of the Wafer shelving system and Waffle baskets, blending aesthetic with function in new ways.
2021
We launched the very first piece in the Bon Bon family — the Bon Bon Chest of Drawers. This year also saw the debut of our playful and practical Bubblegum wall hooks, helping bring colour and character to everyday storage and proudly manufactured in South Africa.
2020
2020 marks the official year we launched our Sugar Cube family, that has since made its way into thousands of homes, offices, and workspaces across South Africa and the EU. Behind the scenes, we also began designing what would become the Bon Bon Family, laying the creative foundation for our next big chapter.
2019
Steel became our material of choice — thanks to its unique strength, clean finish, and sustainability. We spent most of the year developing the Sugar Cube family, working closely with an internationally acclaimed Chinese steel manufacturer. This marked the true rise of the Sugar Cube range.
2018
This was the year we scaled up. Popstrukt invested in volume production testing in both South Africa and China, refining our approach to materials and figuring out what worked best. We also formalised our three guiding pillars: Design, Storage, and Versatility — setting the tone for every product that would follow.
2017
Popstrukt was founded in March 2017 in Cape Town by Industrial Designer Adriaan Louw, with a simple mission: create furniture that makes great design more accessible, delivers versatile storage solutions, and builds a transparent, meaningful business that people love to work for, in, and on. Early efforts focused on strong design principles and experimenting with wood and steel materials, laying the groundwork for a brand with real heart.
