As part of Cape Town Furniture Week 2026, Popstrukt Furniture brought colour and collaboration to the streets with a live, street-front activation alongside Freedom of Movement and LaraMakesStuff.
The focus was the newly launched Sprinkles family, a colourful, dual-tone range that adds a burst of fun and sweetness to any space. Each piece is sprinkled with playful details, from chunky handles and interior scallops to charming corner accents, bringing character and joy into everyday living.
On Saturday, visitors experienced craft in motion as illustrator and animator Lara transformed a Sprinkles unit live on site. Using ink and stamps, she applied her signature designs directly onto a Sprinkles Chest of Drawers, demonstrating her process in real time. What unfolded was not only a workshop, but the creation of a one-of-a-kind piece of functional art.
To add a competitive twist, attendees were invited to guess how many Freedom of Movement vellies could fit inside a Sprinkles Chest of Drawers. The prize was the very unit Lara had decorated live.
One visitor guessed the exact number, walking away with a completely unique piece that captured the spirit of the week.
The Popstrukt team ran an ice cream station, serving scoops topped with custom Sweet LionHeart sprinkles created especially for the occasion. It was a small detail that reflected the ethos of the Sprinkles range, bold, joyful and designed to delight.
Guests also received free limited edition stickers featuring Lara’s funky, characterful designs, extending the activation beyond the furniture itself and into everyday life.
All of this unfolded against a backdrop of Sprinkles pieces styled alongside Freedom of Movement apparel, creating a shared space where furniture, fashion and illustration met naturally.
